Interview with May khoury : Frank Scott: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?. May khoury : The old Ottoman coffee Grinder inspired me to create this console .Frank Scott: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?. May khoury : As usual I wanted to showcase an old piece within a modern creation .Frank Scott: What are your future plans for this award winning design?. May khoury : I would like it to be shown in many Art Shows & Fairs outside Jordan .Frank Scott: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?. May khoury : It took me around one week to design this concept .Frank Scott: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?. May khoury : I designed this piece for my gallery of Arts & Crafts .Frank Scott: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?. May khoury : I intend to produce my work myself .Frank Scott: What made you design this particular type of work?. May khoury : This is typical of my type of design, as I always try to incorporate an old handicraft piece into a modern creation .Frank Scott: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?. May khoury : It was purely my idea & no one influenced me. .Frank Scott: Who is the target customer for his design?. May khoury : Art Lovers, creative clients who appreciate heritage & cultural pieces .Frank Scott: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?. May khoury : It is a unique piece as the old coffee grinder is difficult to find these days. .Frank Scott: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?. May khoury : The name Mabrada, which means coffee cooler, was reproduced to form one of the legs of the console & thats how I chose to use it. .Frank Scott: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?. May khoury : The carpenter put it together with regular tools. .Frank Scott: What is the most unique aspect of your design?. May khoury : The whole piece is unique using stonelike paint & reproducing the shape of the coffee cooler to become one of the legs of the console. .
